2009 Breath of Life Walk
Breath of Life Walk a Great Success
Thank you to this year’s walkers, boot campers, volunteers and sponsors for making this is the best Breath of Life Walk ever!
|
The 7th annual Breath of Life Walk and the 1st annual Breath of Life Boot Camp was a great success. The 467 walkers who attended the walk raised $35,000 to support the important work Breathe California does locally. Grand Marshall CBS5’s Joe Vazquez fired up the enthusiastic crowd for the 3.1 mile walk, which included a large contingent of spirited high school students. Lincoln High School took home the $1000 first prize for most walkers, having 81 walkers attend this years’ event.
Congratulations to Kathleen Robinos, the highest fundraiser and winner of the JetBlue tickets!

Walkers collecting pledges will help Breathe California:
- Teach asthmatic children how to take control of their condition
- Offer education and support to local residents who suffer from COPD
- Eliminate asthma-related deaths and raise awareness about this serious health condition
- Keep youth from getting addicted to tobacco and offer assistance to smokers trying to quit
- Improve local air quality to ensure that all Bay Area residents can breathe easier
