Dear friends, family and coworkers,
This year, I am helping my organization - Breathe California - raise funds to support its breath-saving programs and services in the local community by participating in its 24th annual Bike 4 Breath charity ride on Saturday, July 11th. Too often we take for granted the little everyday things, such as the soothing air that fills our lungs - as we speak, bike, cheer, laugh, run, cry, and every thing in between living. Breathe California firmly believes that breathing should never be a struggle or a risk, however, it is not always the reality.
I joined Breathe California in 2014 because I wanted to be a part of something that I cared for very deeply, and that was helping communities that suffer from poor lung health. As some may know, my father – Des A. Abadilla – passed away last year on Thanksgiving morning. He suffered from many ailments, one being lung disease, and the most difficult moments in my life were when I witnessed him struggle to breathe. And though my father is at now peace, as part of Breathe California and through Bike 4 Breath, I hope to make a difference in the lives of others so that they don't have experience what my family and I, and millions of others, have lived through.
For the annual Bike 4 Breath event, I've set a personal fundraising goal and need your help and support to get there! 100% of every dollar I raise will help our local communities by supporting lung disease research, outreach and education, smoking cessation and clean air advocacy. Your support will make a difference to the lives of those who suffer from poor lung health.
I hope you will consider supporting this worthwhile cause. You can make a secure online donation on my page. Alternatively, you can write a check (payable to Breathe California with my name written in the NOTES section) and send it to the following address:

Together we can knock off lung disease as the second leading and fastest rising cause of death, and make our world a better place to breathe. Thank you for your support!
"I'm convinced of this: Good done anywhere is good done everywhere...
As long as you're breathing, it's never too late to do some good."
