Dear friends, family and coworkers,
Working at Breathe California I've learned many important facts about lung diseases, two that hit home for me are:
1) Lung disease is the second leading and fastest rising cause of death, and
2) Lung disease and breathing problems are the leading cause of infant deaths in the U.S.
Having lost my mother to a respiratory disease was difficult for my family, watching our mother suffer through an asthma attack and COPD was tough. When you can't breathe nothing else matters. That is why I am participating in honor of her. I want to raise money for research to help those who suffer from poor lung health.
To help address this problem, I've decided to participate in Breathe California's Bike 4 Breath charity ride on Saturday, July 11th, 2015 at Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, I will be participating in a virtual ride.
I've set a personal fundraising goal of $1500, I am reaching out to you all in hopes that you all will help and support in reaching my goal! Something you should know is that 100% of every dollar I raise will help our local communities by supporting lung disease research, outreach and education, smoking cessation and clean air advocacy. Your support makes a difference to the lives of those who suffer from poor lung health.
You can make a secure online donation on this page by going to this link: http://events.ggbreathe.org/goto/EliasTrevino. Alternatively, you can write a check (payable to breathe California with my name written in the NOTES section) and mail it to:

Together we can reduce air pollution, tobacco use (especially among teens!), and deaths from lung diseases such as asthma, COPD and cancer.
Thank you for your support!
