Dear friends and family,
Mary, Sophia, Aaron and I first starting riding Bike for Breath as a family in 2008. See photo above.
We picked the ride to honor my dad, Donald Lipp, who had died from lung cancer. This ride raised money and awareness for lung health and clean air. It was a good fit since there was s short distance (Aaron was 5 years old), a great course and it was family friendly.
In 2012 we stepped it up a notch, starting Team Abuelo for Sophia's bat mitzvah charity project.
Later that year I joined the board of Breathe California to help with their good work.
We've also had wonderful friends join us as part of Team Abuelo.
Now you can be a part of it!
If you've never done a group ride before or if you a regular at local centuries and charity events, this is a great ride for you to do. You don't have to raise funds to participate, though if you do you can win prizes (ask Sophia about the plane trip and Disneyland tickets).
Not only will you get to spend a beautiful day with the Lipps, but you'll be helping to raise awareness about clean air and lung health, and you'll learn more about why Breathe is vitally important.
If you are unable to join, please consider sponsoring me or one of the other members of Team Abuelo.
I look forward to riding with you in July.
