Volunteer ONE day, and make a difference for a lifetime
We are looking for volunteers to help with registration, event set up, course monitoring, handing out food and water, manning the rest stop and numerous other details on event day, October 9th. Various volunteer shifts are available between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm, so there will certainly be a shift that works with your schedule!
ALL volunteers will receive breakfast and an official Breathe California Volunteer T-shirt for FREE!
*We request that each volunteer check in & stay for at least 3.5 hours*
REMINDER: All high school volunteers must also register as walkers
to be counted in the student contest
Here are the details for each position needing to be filled. Any large volunteer groups can sign up by contacting the Volunteer Coordinator, Kenneth McElderry, at KennethM@ggbreathe.org or 650-994-5868. He'll make sure everyone in your group volunteers together!

Volunteering Prior to the Walk: Friday, October 8th
Supply pick-up/drop-off: 1 volunteer needed Time commitment: 3-4 hours We have several companies donating items and have been asked to pick up some donations. · Volunteer must have a large vehicle: SUV, Truck, or Van.

Volunteering on Event Day: Saturday, October 9th
Early Set Up: 6 am to 9 am - 20 volunteers needed Time commitment: 3.0 hours · Set up tables, chairs and canopies. · Decorate start/finish area with balloons. · Some volunteers needed to place signs and balloons around the course.
Breakfast Service: 7:30 am to 10:00 am - 8 volunteers needed Time commitment: 2.5 hours · Organize and set-up food area. · Work with catering staff to distribute breakfast items to walkers.
Kids' Zone: 8:30 am to 11:30 am - 4 volunteers needed Time commitment: 3 hours · Organize and set-up Kids Zone area. · Facilitate games, coloring table and other Kid's Zone activities.
Course Monitors: 9:00 am to 11:30 am - 20 volunteers needed Time commitment: 2.5 hours · Direct our walkers along the course · Most Importantly: Support the walkers by cheering them on!
Rest Stop: 8:00 am to 11:30 am - 8 volunteers needed Time commitment: 3.5 hours · Organize and set-up food area. · Distribute water and food items to walkers. · Help motivate and cheer our walkers on! · Break down Rest Stop area
Clean Up Crew: 11:30 am to 1:30 pm - 20 volunteers needed Time commitment: 2 hours · Break down chairs, tables, canopies. · Load everything back into moving truck.
