Event Information

At the start and finish, you'll enjoy a festive atmosphere with great music, massage therapists and free bike inspections. At rest stops, hosted by our wonderful volunteers, you can re-hydrate and re-energize with water, drinks and snacks. Restroom facilities are available at start/finish and rest stops. Support and gear (SAG) vehicles are constantly patrolling the Bike 4 Breath routes. Help is never far away!

Take the Green Route

If you can, please help the environment by riding the bus or train to Bike for Breath.
Here’s a handy map of bike routes and connecting mass transit routes in San Mateo County.

Check-in times:

7:00-8:00 a.m. - 50 and 62 mile routes
8:30-9:30 a.m. - 10 and 18 mile routes

Kids' Zone

The Kids’ Zone (10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) is an area for young riders, ages 2 and up, to learn about road safety, decorate their helmets and much more. Our Kids‘ Zone offers your children a number of fun activities to enjoy while you wait for friends and family members to complete the ride. All children in the Kids’ Zone must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Photo Contest

Be a Bike 4 Breath photographer and you may find your handywork on the cover of our 2011 Bike 4 Breath brochure:

  • The prize-winning photo will be used as part of the Bike 4 Breath media campaign, including posters, postcards, Muni bus ads, bus shelters, newspapers ads, TV ads and others.
  • Winner will be selected as the prize-winner to be reproduced and distributed as the official 2011 20th Annual Bike 4 Breath brochure and poster.
  • The winner will receive a Bike 4 Breath jersey.
Deadline for submissions: Saturday, January 30, 2011

Guidelines:
- Only two photos per person: One landscape & One portrait
- Only e-mail submissions: a high-resolution JPEG file or you can send your photos on CD.
- Each submission must include the photographer's name, address, phone number and valid e-mail address
- Please submit original photos only
- Signed release forms are required for copyrighted images or materials.
- Signed release forms are also needed for “subjects,” whether public or private citizens.

Announcement of Winner: The winning photos will be selected and announced at a later date. Breathe California reserves the right to reject all submissions for the final brochure and poster. No entries will be returned, so please keep all your files and/or scan your photos.

Routes

Due to summer construction along portions of the Foster City Pedway/Bikeway, the 10 and 18 mile routes for the 2010 ride will be slightly altered. Please download maps and directions for alternate routes below.

Mini Breath Ride, a flat ride ideal for beginners and children, travels the beautiful bike paths along the San Francisco Bay.
