ING Bay to Breakers Volunteer Opportunities
VOLUNTEER AT THE BAY AREA’S BIGGEST MOVING MARDI GRAS!
On May 16th, join Breathe California for an exclusive back-stage experience at the 99th annual ING Bay to Breakers 12K. Volunteers see this exciting race first hand, and will receive an official ING Bay to Breakers 12K Volunteer T-shirt for their efforts.
Your participation will help Breathe California continue to help our neighbors breathe easier.

Two Dates You Can Volunteer:
Saturday, May 15 - the day before the run
We need 100 volunteers to work one of the two 50-person shifts at the "Greater Body Expo". The Expo will be held at the San Francisco Design Center, East Concourse.
Afternoon Shift will be 11:30am to 4:00pm (4.5 hours)
Evening Shift will be 3:00pm to 7:30pm (4.5 hours)
If you have the time, please feel free to volunteer for more than one shift - it's fun!
Volunteers should wear their official ING Bay to Breakers 12K VOLUNTEER t-shirt (provided), black pants or black jeans and comfortable shoes with socks
Food and beverages will NOT be provided. Please make sure to eat before you arrive and bring water!
Sunday, May 16 - RACE DAY!
We need 160 volunteers to keep runners refreshed at 4 water stops from 6:00 a.m.to 12 noon at the latest. The water stops will be set up by the ING Bay to Breakers 12K Event Staff, so you may not be required to do any heavy lifting. Duties include:
- Opening cases of water bottles
- Pouring water into cups
- Handing cups to runners as they pass — wear rain gear: you may get splashed!
- Cheering the runners as they go by!
You will also have the opportunity to join the party at the ING Footstock Festival and Concert immediately after their shift.
Volunteers should wear very comfortable waterproof shoes, socks, waterproof jackets, and hats if it is chilly - always have your layers ready!
