Through our pledge program, Breathe California offers you an opportunity to help fight lung disease while earning a coveted start spot on race day! Become a pledge runner by helping raise money for Breathe California’s local programs and services.
The first 200 pledge runners that collect at least $250 in donations will receive a FREE guaranteed spot in the preferred section right behind the race’s seeded runners — click here for a map!
These 200 runners will receive an official race packet that includes a special race bib (which will admit you to the preferred start location), a 2008 ING Bay to Breakers 12K T-Shirt and many other official race giveaways. They will also receive a Breathe California “wickable” running shirt, which we hope all of our pledge runners will wear with pride on race day!
Plus, Breathe California is offering a number of fantastic Incentive Prizes and drawings for pledge runners who meet certain fundraising levels. The grand prize for our TOP fundraiser is 2 FREE round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, good for any destination in the continental United States!

* There are a limited number of preferred starts spots to be awarded on a first come/first served basis. A minimum of $250 in donations must be received online and/or at our Daly City office before your preferred spot will be reserved. Any cash and check donations should be sent (along with a paper form) to:

The qualifying 200 fundraisers will be notified via e-mail. Donations received after May 7th will not apply for preferred start spots. However, you may continue raising money to qualify for incentive prizes through May 30th.
* Race packets will be mailed out along with a Breathe California “wickable” running shirt in early May. If there is a problem delivering to the address you provide during the registration process, you will need to make arrangements to pick up your packet at our Daly City office. PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to pick up your packet on race day.
* Donations are not refundable. Breathe California is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and all donations made to the agency are tax-deductible.
